Playa del Viento, on Lago Moreno, about 13 km from the centre of Bariloche, is the other beach in the city where people kite. The lake is smaller and slightly warmer than Nahuel Huapi, with small waves and a bit of a shorebreak. The westerly thermal wind enters towards the beach, funnelled between the hills: on sunny days from November to March it is steady and strong; on cloudy days it arrives very gusty. The southerly wind comes down from the hills: do not go out. The beach is shared: the municipality has a bathing area with lifeguards, and in 2024 kiters requested a designated sector about 100 m from the boat ramp, towards Cerro Bellavista, to set up, launch and land away from swimmers. Until there are signs, set up in that sector and do not ride in front of the bathing area. There is parking at the end of Calle Del Remanso.
