# La Manga - Veneziola — San Javier, Spain

La Veneziola is the Mar Menor beach at the northern tip of La Manga, next to the canals of the same name. It has a wide strip of sand in front of the apartment towers and very clean water thanks to the proximity of the gola that connects the lagoon with the Mediterranean.

Today it works mainly with Poniente and Lebeche, which enter from the lagoon without obstacles. It used to be a North and Levante spot, but since the hotels were built on the edge of the natural area, those winds arrive gusty. It is suitable for kitesurf, wingfoil, windsurf and SUP.

The bottom has mussel shells, so use booties. In the bathing season, the beachfront is buoyed for swimmers. Forecasts are checked with ARPEGE, ECMWF and ICON.

- **Poniente** — W (270°), 12–28 kn. West wind. Enters from the Mar Menor towards the beach, without obstacles: it is the wind that works best here today.. Onshore wind: the safest direction to return.
- **Lebeche** — SW (225°), 12–28 kn. Southwest wind, side-onshore. Guides include it along with the Poniente.. Side-shore wind: the drift takes you north, towards the tip of La Manga.
