# Los Alcázares - Los Narejos — Los Alcázares, Spain

Los Narejos is the northern area of Los Alcázares and the most sailed spot on the west side of the Mar Menor. You launch at Playa de las Salinas, in front of the school on Calle Pintor Delacroix, with flat water and standing depth for hundreds of metres: the classic place to learn.

It works almost all year round and with many directions. Levante comes in side-onshore in autumn and winter, Jaloque is the soft summer thermal and Lebeche, reinforced by the thermal in spring and autumn, blows offshore on this bank. Winter North and Poniente arrive lighter than in La Manga. It is suitable for kitesurf, wingfoil, windsurf and SUP, and there is a school with rentals right on the beach.

To the south of the launch there is a long jetty: do not let yourself drift towards it. The bottom has mussel shells, so wear booties. During the bathing season, the beachfront is buoyed off for swimmers. The northern stretch, towards the old airport, is a protected space. Forecasts are checked with ARPEGE, ECMWF and ICON.

## Local winds

- **Levante** — ENE (60°), 12–28 kn. North-east to east wind. Comes in side-onshore, steady, especially in autumn and winter.. Side-onshore wind: the drift takes you south, towards the long jetty.
- **Jaloque** — SE (130°), 12–28 kn. South-east wind, the summer thermal. Comes in towards the beach, soft and sometimes gusty.. Onshore wind: leave space downwind when launching.
- **Lebeche** — SW (220°), 12–28 kn. South-west wind, reinforced by the thermal in the afternoon in spring and autumn. On this shore it blows offshore.. Side-offshore wind: takes you away from the shore. Only sail if there is a rescue service (school on the beach).

## Points of interest

- **Aloha Wind & Kite Center**: Kitesurf, windsurf, sailing, SUP and kayak school at Playa de las Salinas (Calle Pintor Delacroix).
- **Long jetty**: Jetty of about 200 m to the south of the launch: the drift with Levante leads towards it.
- **Protected natural stretch**: Towards the old airport the beach is natural, with reeds and walkways: do not launch there.

- Seaweed and jellyfish after heavy rain
- Swimmers during bathing season
