# Marbella - Los Monteros — Marbella, Spain

El Kiosco del Kite is the reference spot in Marbella: Los Monteros beach, next to the mouth of the Río Real, east of the city. It is a long but narrow beach and the bottom gains depth very quickly, so the kite is set up with one foot in the water and it is advisable to use short lines.

When the Levante kicks in, stable although infrequent, the spot becomes a little Tarifa; with the Poniente and the afternoon thermals the wind comes in onshore with waves and is more demanding. It is not a spot for beginners, but it has a chiringuito with a great kiter atmosphere right on the beach, parking, showers and toilets.

In summer the swimming area is buoyed and you ride outside of it, giving priority to swimmers. Forecasts are checked with ARPEGE, ECMWF and ICON.
