# Valencia - El Perellonet — València, Spain

The wide beach of El Perellonet, south of the gola de la Albufera, is the kite spot of the city of València: it has a school and, in summer, a kite zone marked with buoys by the council. The section of this spot is in front of Recatí, south of the village.

The wind is the south-easterly thermal on afternoons from April to October, which guides describe as side-on and constant along the entire Albufera coast: calm freeride, shallow water and some chop by late afternoon, good for learning. In autumn and winter, Levante storms bring waves, and Poniente blows offshore.

Rules: from 15 June to 15 September, riding is only allowed within the kite markers, supervised by the Municipal Sports Foundation from 14:30 to 19:30, with capacity control, third-party insurance and safety equipment. The beach is in the l'Albufera Natural Park and in 2023 the park reported against the summer channels: check each season if the channel is authorised. There is a school (Kitezone Club), seafood restaurants in El Perellonet and street parking.

## Local winds

- **Garbí (térmica)** — ESE (120°), 12–20 kn. The thermal breeze of spring and summer afternoons, from April to October: it comes from the sea from the south-east and provides calm freeride with some chop by late afternoon. According to guides, it comes side-on and is constant along the entire Albufera coast.. It usually drops at sunset: do not go too far from the shore at the end of the day.
- **Gregal / Llevant** — ENE (70°), 15–30 kn. North-east and east winds from autumn and winter storms: they come from the sea, stronger and with waves.. Swell and currents near the shore; only with wave experience.
- **Ponent (terral)** — W (280°), 12–35 kn. The Poniente wind of winter blows offshore on this coast: gusty and pushes out to sea.. Offshore wind: do not ride with it.
